We’ve all…well…ok….some of us….have read Edgar Allan Poe’s chilling tale of the Tell Tale Heart. This, gentle reader is the Tale…(pause for dramatic effect)…of the Tell Tale Hat.
it was a day like any other…well, actually it wasn’t. It was a pretty terrible day what with K being in Adelaide with her family grieving over our terrible impending loss and me alone in Bangers with nothing to do but feel miserable and lonely. This explains the sudden rush of blogs. If I’m miserable then why shouldn’t you be too ?
Blurred faces rushed by at Hualamphong. Apparently entirely pervious to the grief we were anticipating.
A lovely fellow distracted me for awhile. “You are from Australia”, he said, “I can tell from your hat.”
I agreed, indeed I was, and mounted the steel chariot. A lovely chap came through with some dinner suggestions.
It wasn’t as bad as it might have been.
An official looking fellow flapped some flags and we were off.
Some gorgeous people were aboard.
A speedy lizard too.
Update. Peter Wall has died today and my heart is in my socks. I didn’t know him very well but I knew him well enough to lament his loss immeasurably. He was one of the great ones. A leader in his field, an innovator, a humanist, a father and husband, an uncle and mentor. Hard to describe how big this loss is. Suffice it to say that the whole wide world is grieving tonight. RIP Peter Wall.
Yes indeed, he was a wonderful man.

He was. Hard to imagine what to do now that the giants are all tumbling down. First your wonderful Dad, then my lovely Mum, now Peter. I guess we can only try to be the kindest people we can, to honour their memory.
